 Virgin Islands National Park

National Geographic/Trails Illustrated Virgin Islands National Park, St. John, USVI
Detailed topographic map printed on two sides---newly revised and now featuring shaded relief and improved coloration.  The map is printed on one side and shows the island of St. John and outlying smaller islands in the US Virgin Islands, plus a portion of Tortola Island in the nearby British Virgin Islands.  Elevation contours enhanced with relief shading show the form of the land.  Color tints show private lands as distinguished from National Park lands.  Also shows roads, villages, recreational facilities, buoys, soundings and much more.  Although, as just noted, there are some nautical features shown, the map is not intended for navigation.

The reverse side provides a location map of the entire island group, but is dominated by text describing the park and its facilities in general, with specifics on safety, regulations, boating, snorkeling areas, a list of hiking trails (keyed to the map), and birdwatching in the park.  Most noticeable are the fine black & white line drawings showing several common birds and plants of the area.

Scale, about 1:22,000 (1 inch = about 1/3 mile).  Contour interval: 50 feet.  Size: about 37½ x 25½ inches.  Folded.  Plastic.
