In this section are the United States Geological Survey (USGS) quadrangle maps we stock. Also in the section are the intermediate-scale (1:100,000) Bureau of Land Management (BLM) quadrangle maps. (A quadrangle is a map bounded along a standardized set of lines of latitude and longitude such that there is no overlap among adjacent maps. Since these boundaries are set arbitrarily without consideration for the area depicted, specific places of interest are frequently split among adjacent quadrangles.)
Mindbird Maps also stocks other maps produced by USGS, such as geologic maps, state maps, world maps, US maps, and various thematic maps. These are shown in other sections of the website. Please see the index above and at the bottom of this page for links.

This is the most detailed series of topographic maps produced by USGS, at 2000 feet to the inch. The best scale available for hikers, backpackers, and rural property owners (since USGS no longer makes the 1:62,500-scale 15' series).

Intermediate scale topographic maps with metric elevation contours, great for backcountry roads and for coverage of a larger area. Scale translates to about a mile and a half to the inch. This section also includes many maps produced by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) that are distributed by USGS.

Smaller-scale topographic maps covering a broad region, yet with more detail than a full-state map. Scale is about 4 miles to the inch. Good detail for road bikes since they cover areas suitable for 1 to 4 day rides, and show all significant hills.
