Although the map is packed with detail, it manages to look uncluttered except in the urban areas. (See sample at right.) It shows all classes of roadways and even some footpaths, ferries, railways, cable railways, chair lifts, castles, "natural curiosities", battlefields, "beautiful viewpoints", campgrounds, spas, and more.Distances between selected points on most roadways are shown in kilometers. Insets show the general street plans of Zürich, Basel, Bern, Geneva, Luzern, Locarno and several other cities. The legend explains the symbols in German, French, Italian and English.
Attached to the protective card cover is a 63 page booklet which gives additional information and supplementary maps, and a comprehensive map index and much more.
