DeLorme South Dakota Atlas & Gazetteer
This atlas contains a collection of detailed topographic maps showing the entire state on 60½ atlas pages.  Not only shows the major and local roads that a standard state road map covers, but also delineates local rural roads (and names them) and even many dirt roads (including Forest Service roads in the Black Hills).  Other features include civil township boundaries and names, historic Indian Reservation boundaries,   national, state or muncipal lands, airports, railroads, powerlines, woodlands, agricultural lands, rangelands, wetlands, hospitals, information centers, boat access areas, public  campgrounds, and more.  Elevation contours are enhanced with shaded relief which vividly shows the form of the landscape.  The maps are also gridded with latitude and longitude lines for the benefit of GPS users.

Additional symbols on the map are keyed to the gazetteer section, which in charts or short paragraphs list or describe individual features in these categories: Attractions, Bicycle Routes, Campgrounds, Fishing, Hiking, Historic Sites, Hunting (distinguished by waterfowl or game production areas), National Lands, Canoe Trips, Scenic Drives, State Lands, Tribal Lands, and Unique Natural Features.  An index helps you locate the over 5300 features shown on the map, not only cities and towns, but water features, campgrounds, and other features such as peaks, parks, and airports.

Good clear road map printed on two sides.  The map of both states is on one side.  The map clearly distinguishes all classes of roads; point-to-point mileages are indicated for primary and secondary highways.  They also show Indian Reservations, parks, campgrounds, rest areas, information centers, and points of interest.  There is an index which helps you locate counties, cities, and towns; plus a mileage log.  On the reverse there is extensive visitors' information about each state, including descriptions of points of interest, detail maps of major cities, and tables indicating the facilities and activities available in state and national parks and recreation areas.
