Raised relief maps are printed on molded vinyl, replicating the three-dimensional form of each area's terrain. They are highly appreciated by map lovers and are a great educational tool. Mindbird Maps & Books has stocked over 250 of them, but we are now unable to restock them due to the poor economy and the store's poor finances. (Those which are out of stock are clearly marked as such next to the price; we cannot backorder or special order out of stock relief maps. Sale on Selected Raised Relief Maps! Most available maps are reduced substantially from the regular discount price. Prices as marked, while they last (most available in quantities of one to five only), some prices will continue to be reduced daily for remaining stock. We are closing out most of our raised relief stock and do not plan to re-order those marked "out of stock". "Daily price reductions" means that every day, I reduce the price of at least one relief map, and usually several. I do not reduce the prices of those I have recently sold at the old price, but instead choose titles that I haven't sold in weeks. If that doesn't improve sales, I may reduce the same title again in a couple of more weeks. I will continue this process until all are sold or until I get caught up on bills, whichever comes first. If I get caught up, it is possible I may raise the price of some of the deeply discounted titles, especially those from the southwestern region and those which have been discontinued by the manufacturer. Raised relief map shipping special: Order five or more raised relief maps (sale or regular discount price) and receive $10.00 off the regular shipping fee. If you order using the PayPal shopping cart, the refund is processed manually after the order is submitted (up to 18 hours later). Order by phone, and we deduct the $10.00 when quoting you the shipping price. Regular shipping prices for large raised relief maps range from $10.00 within Arizona to $17.50 for East Coast shipments, very close to the actual cost of shipping the oversized boxes. (Much more for most of Alaska and Hawai'i.) If you want to order multiple copies of the same map, please contact us first to be sure that we have sufficient stock to fill your order. Special relief map shipping notes: Raised relief maps are fairly rigid and do not roll; all are shipped flat. All but the smallest ones are always sent UPS Ground Service, which offers much more affordable rates than the US Postal Service on such large boxes. If you need delivery to a PO Box, you'll need to get a rate quote, since shipping the larger of these maps via US Postal Service will cost you 1½ to 4½ times more than via UPS Ground, even for the slowest service. Need shipping to Alaska or Hawai'i? Call or email us for a rate quote. It will likely be $25 to $40 even for economy methods. In some cases, raised relief maps going to Alaska or Hawai'i are sent USPS as the cheaper alternative. Rate quotes also available for faster service to 48-state destinations (be prepared to pay more than the cost of the map itself for USPS Priority Mail or UPS 2nd Day Air to Eastern or Central destinations).
