National Geographic Everest Base Camp, Trekking AdventureMAP
Excellent travel and trekking map printed on two sides. One side features a shaded relief map fo the entire Kingdom of Nepal, flanked by several color photos of area scenes, and several paragraphs of text to introduce you to the country and its attractions.  On the same side is a general map of the capital Kathmandu and nearby Patan.  Besides major roads and streets, this map shows the locations of embassies, hotels and guest houses, shopping complexes, theatres, temples, stupas, churches, mosques, post offices, police stations, hospitals, banks, and other features.  A small map details the Thamel district of Kathmandu, which is especially rich in guest houses and hotels.

The reverse side is the trekking map of the Everest Base Camp region.  The topographic contours of this map are enhanced with shaded relief.  The map shows roads, major trekking routes, minor routes, settlements, cultivated and forested areas, visitor centers, check points, airports, lodging, campsites, temples, caves, hot springs, and more.  An index helps you find the various place names on the map.  Symbols are explained in English, German, French, and Italian.

On past printings of this map, there was a mistake in the scale provided for the full map of Nepal.  Although the first printing of the 2004 revision continued to have an error in the scale, the current printing, also dated 2004, has been corrected, as has been brought to my attention by National Geographic Maps staff.  You can tell you have the corrected 2004 printing by noting that the scale of the Nepal map is given as 1:1,250,000 (1 inch = about 20 miles).  The uncorrected 2004 version gave this as "1:250,000" (1 inch = about 4 miles).
Map produced and distributed in cooperation with The Himalayan MapHouse.

Scale, Everest Base Camp map, 1:50,000 (1 inch = about 0.8 mile); scale of Nepal map, about 1:1,250,000 (1 inch = about 19.7 miles).  Size: about 24 x 35½ inches.  Folded.  Plastic.
