Printed on one side only, the map employs elevation contours to show the form of the land.  Distinct color tints show the land management agencies responsible for the lands in the quadrangle: Blue for Arizona state lands (with a darker blue showing state parks), green for National Forest, yellow for BLM, and orange for Indian Reservation.  Federal wilderness areas are emphasized with a thick grey borderline.  Shows rivers, streams, creeks, washes,  springs, and wells.  Township and section lines are marked.  Roads of all classes are depicted (with US and state highways, and reservation and Forest Service roads numbered).  Shows major power lines, caves, mines and quarries, railroads, landing strips and more.  Special symbols show recreation sites and trailheads.  (See sample below.)

Towns and localities on the map include Hayden, Winkelman, Dudleyville, Mammoth, San Manuel, Oracle, Oracle Junction, and Klondyke.  Several units of Coronado National Forest are mapped, as is also the Galiuro and Santa Teresa Wildernesses within it.  The Aravaipa Canyon Wilderness and North Santa Teresa Wilderness administered by BLM are also marked.  The southern end of the San Carlos Indian Reservation is in the top middle and top right corner of the map.  Important highways on the map are state 77, state 79, state 76, and state 177.

Prominent physical features labelled include Tortilla Mountains, San Pedro River, Falcon Valley, Santa Catalina Mountains, Aravaipa Canyon, Galiuro Mountains, Santa Teresa Mountains, Pinaleno Mountains, Sulphur Springs Valley.

Most of the area is within Pinal and Graham counties, with a small trip of Pima County at bottom left.
