Geophysical World Raised Relief
This raised relief map makes the mountains stand out, and the coloring shows you the major types of vegetation covering the planet. The ridges and trenches of the ocean floor are also depicted (though not in raised relief).
With the exception of globes, all world maps must distort the appearance of the world's features. They can either distort the shapes and preserve the relative size, or preserve the sizes and distort the shapes. This map is based on the Robinson projection, which offers one of the best compromises between the two conflicting qualities. On this map, you don't see the extreme size distortion of projections like the Mercator, nor the extreme shape distortion of projections like the Galt-Peters.
Size: about 38 x 20 inches.

Mexico Natural Color Relief
The mountains and highlands stand out in three-dimensions, while the color-scheme simulates that of the natural vegetation on this medium sized map. The key to symbols is bilingual in English and Spanish, but most of the place names are shown in Spanish only. For example, the Pacific Ocean is labelled "Oceano Pacifico." (Actually, they slipped up a bit on consistency of language use: The Tropic of Cancer is labelled as such, not in Spanish, and the capitol itself is shown not as "Ciudad de Mexico" but as "Mexico City.")
The map shows cities and towns large and small, includes Mexican state boundaries, and major highways. On the US side of the border, only border towns and roads are shown.
Scale: 1 inch = 100 miles. Size: 22 x 17 inches.

Middle East Raised Relief
Nicely detailed new map shows the Middle East and adjacent lands. Definitions for the term "Middle East" differ, and the narrowest definition would probably restrict use to the nations of the Arabian and Sinai Peninsulas and those to the immediate north, thus including Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Iraq. Technically, the above are all a part of Asia, but it seems that American foreign policy specialists, reporters, and politicians wanted a term which would include all of the "troubled" nations of "that" part of the world, which is perhaps why many consider Egypt, Iran and Afghanistan to also be a part of the group labeled Middle Eastern. This map includes the latter, too (except only about 2/3 of Egypt), and also shows all of Turkey (except a bit of the European portion), all of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, and, along the Red Sea, newly independent Eritrea. In addition, parts of Sudan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, and southern Uzbekistan are also depicted.
Colors show the extent of woodlands and irrigated areas. The map also locates important cities, railroads and ferry routes (but no highways), oil and gas fields and pipelines, waterways, and important mountain peaks with elevations in feet. The map is gridded with latitude and longitude lines at 5 degree intervals.
Scale, 1:6,250,000 (1 inch = about 99 miles). Size: about 31 x 25 inches.
