Flatter areas are emphasized with a greenish tint. (See above, with detail at right.) Elevations are provided for selected high points, but there are no elevation contours. Cities, towns, and smaller communities are included. County boundaries are marked, and counties are labeled. Shows railways, primary and secondary highways, and other principal roads, with Interstate, US, and state highways numbered. Shows State Parks, State Forests, Wildlife Areas, and other conservation areas.As you would expect from a topographic map, it also shows lakes, rivers, creeks, marshes and other water features, with many of them labeled. Bathymetric contours and slected soundings show the depths of offshore waters. The whole map is marked with latitude and longitude lines at one degree intervals, and tick marks show UTM grid boundaries. Outside of Connecticut, no detail is shown other than coastlines and state boundaries. Note the publication date below: This is not a map to buy for current highways, but for general reference and for its handsome appearance.
