Time Traveler Maps An Image of the Four CornersPictorial map of the open and rugged country near the meeting point of the states of Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico. Shaded relief and a slightly oblique viewing angle give it an appearance of an aerial view. Colors on the map, however, show relative elevation levels and not vegetation or land coloration.
The publisher gives further description: “This image simulates the kind of view one would have high over the border of New Mexico and Arizona looking directly north. The visual effect of this oblique perspective is to shorten distance in a north-south direction, while east-west scale is 1 inch = approx. 8.5 miles. Shorelines, water features, and roads are approximate. Drainages are shown as they would appear after a recent rain. Not to be used for navigational purposes.”The map is bounded in the northwest by Salina, Utah and Fishlake Mountains; in the west by Marble Canyon, in the southwest by Camp Verde and Sedona; in the northeast by Blue Moon Reservoir and West Elk Mountains; and in the southeast by Mount Taylor and San Mateo Mountains.
