Printed on two sides, this comprehensive street map shows not only Bakersfield, but several other cities in the general region (none of which, however, are close enough to be considered suburbs, though all in Kern County). These other cities and towns are Ridgecrest, California City, Tehachapi, Delano, and a part of Taft.On one side is the main map showing Bakersfield, with insets for Taft, Tehachapi, Delano, and Ridgecrest. On the reverse is a smaller scale map showing the major and rural roads of a large portion of Kern County (which includes the Lake Isabella region), and a street map of California City (in the Mojave Desert). Note that as implied above, this map is not a complete street map of the city. LA is so large, that you will not get complete street detail on one sheet, and would have to buy a street atlas for the whole place (not available from our shop). This map, however, covers the places most visitors will want to go; and if you want to use it for business travels, it covers everything south of Griffith Park.

MapArt San Francisco road map
Excellent maps, printed on two sides. One side is a complete, detailed street map of San Francisco, which also includes the peninsula cities of Daly City, South San Francisco, Pacifica, San Bruno, and the northern half of Milbrae—and including SF International Airport. (See sample at right.) The streets are depicted with exaggerated width which makes them easier to read; major streets are brightly colored for emphasis. BART (rapid transit) lines and stations are also shown. The streets are fully indexed. On the reverse side is a wonderfully detailed map of California from San Jose, Merced, and Bishop north to Fort Bragg on the coast and Red Bluff in the interior. (The publisher bills it as a map of "Central California", however this does not jibe with common usage, since what is commonly known as Central California, the region from approximately San Luis Obispo and Bakersfield north to Monterey and/or Santa Cruz, is not even on the map. I very much doubt that any San Francicans think of themselves as living in Central California!). As with all of my favorite maps, the mountains are depicted with shaded relief. Point-to-point distances are given in miles and kilometers. Insets show the whole San Francisco Bay area and an enlargement of downtown San Francisco. Cities and towns are fully indexed; parks, too.
