An inset gives you an enlarged view of the downtown section, with important buildings (including hotels) labeled. On the reverse side, about half of the sheet is given to the street index, but it also includes an extension of the main map eastward. The continuation shows the additional LA neighborhoods of Mt Washington, Monterey Hills, Montecito Heights, El Sereno, Lincoln Heights, Boyle Heights. Other cities detailed include South Pasadena, East Los Angeles, Vernon, Huntington Park, Maywood, Bell, Cudahy, Walnut Park, and South Gate. LA is so large, that you will not get complete street detail on one sheet, and would have to buy a street atlas for the whole place (not available from our shop). This map, however, covers the places most visitors will want to go; and if you want to use it for business travels, it covers everything south of Griffith Park.

International Travel Maps, San Francisco, California street map Easy-to-read street map printed on one side only showing the northern two-thirds of the city—the area where visitors are most likely to want to see. By omitting the southern end, the mapmakers were able to provide more detail for the area they do cover without making the print too small to comfortably read. The map covers the neighborhoods as far south as the San Francisco Zoo, Lakeside, Mt. Davidson Park, Twin Peaks and Noe Valley. Besides a comprehensive coverage of streets, the map shows bike lanes, commuter train stations, BART stations and routes, MUNI metro stations and routes, and cable car routes. Also shows parks and plazas, universities and colleges, schools, hospitals, churches, and more. Buildings of special interest to visitors such as hotels, inns, hostels, and theaters are individually labelled. An inset shows a schematic map of the BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) system throughout the region, plus connecting systems such as Caltrain and Amtrak. MapArt San Francisco road map Excellent maps, printed on two sides. One side is a complete, detailed street map of San Francisco, which also includes the peninsula cities of Daly City, South San Francisco, Pacifica, San Bruno, and the northern half of Milbrae—and including SF International Airport. (See sample at right.) The streets are depicted with exaggerated width which makes them easier to read; major streets are brightly colored for emphasis. BART (rapid transit) lines and stations are also shown. The streets are fully indexed. On the reverse side is a wonderfully detailed map of California from San Jose, Merced, and Bishop north to Fort Bragg on the coast and Red Bluff in the interior. (The publisher bills it as a map of "Central California", however this does not jibe with common usage, since what is commonly known as Central California, the region from approximately San Luis Obispo and Bakersfield north to Monterey and/or Santa Cruz, is not even on the map. I very much doubt that any San Francicans think of themselves as living in Central California!). As with all of my favorite maps, the mountains are depicted with shaded relief. Point-to-point distances are given in miles and kilometers. Insets show the whole San Francisco Bay area and an enlargement of downtown San Francisco. Cities and towns are fully indexed; parks, too. The key is given in English and Spanish.
Scale, City map side, 1:25,000 (1 inch = about 0.4 miles); "Central" California side, 1:800,000 (1 inch = about 12.6 miles). Size: about 27 x 39½ inches. Folded. Paper.
