The communities shown on the map include Hillside, Kirkland, Kirkland Junction, Peeples Valley, Wilhoit, Hawkins, Congress, Glen Ilah, Yarnell, Poland Junction, Mayer, Cordes Junction, and Black Canyon City.  Major highways depicted are US 93, US 89, Interstate 17, state 71, state 96, and state 69.  Prescott National Forest dominates the upper middle and upper right corner of the map, a small piece of Tonto National Forest is in the lower right corner.  Most of the new Agua Fria National Monument, administered by BLM, is on the right side of the map.  The Forest Service's Castle Creek Wilderness and BLM's Hassayampa's River Canyon Wilderness are shown in their entireties.

Physical features shown include Date Creek Mountains, Weaver Mountains, Black Canyon, and Bradshaw Mountains of the title.  All but the lower right corner of the map are in Yavapai County, with the remainder in Maricopa County.
