Printed on one side only, the map employs elevation contours to show the form of the land.  Color tints show land management, with yellow for BLM (with BLM wilderness areas outlined in grey), blue for state lands, green for National Wildlife Refuges, and pink for Corps of Engineers withdrawals.  Shows rivers, streams, creeks, washes, springs, and tanks (stock ponds).  Township and section lines are marked.  Roads of all classes are depicted (but only US and state highways are numbered).  Shows major power lines, mine shafts, mines and quarries, and gravel pits; and more.  (See sample below.)

Covers all of Alamo Lake, showing usual lake level and maximum capacity.  Also includes Castaneda Hills, Black Mesa, Artillery Mountains, Rawhide Mountains, Buckskin Mountains, northern Butler Valley, northern Aguila Valley, Harcuvar Mountains, and Black Mountains.

Includes all of these BLM Wilderness Areas: Aubrey Peak, East Cactus Plain, Swan Sea, Rawhide Mountains, Arrastra Mountain, and Tres Alamos; plus shows the northern part of Harcuvar Mountains Wilderness.

Bill Williams River runs across the middle of the map.

A large stretch of US highway 93 runs across the upper right corner, state highway 71 runs across the lower right corner.

About one-third of the map is in La Paz County (which was a part of Yuma County at the time of map publication); another one-third Mohave County, and the right third in Yavapai County.
