Mainly Maps State of Missouri raised relief map
Detailed map showing the topography of the Show Me state. If you have sharp eyes or a good magnifier, you will be able to discern county boundaries, land lines, towns of all sizes, and much more detail.
It is something of a mediocre product. The main trouble is that they took a large scale USGS state map—which was full of wonderful details—and reduced it so small that it is difficult to read. Noticing this, they superimposed names of major cities and towns in legibly-sized type directly on top of the original names, instead of going to the trouble of deleting the smaller type; this results in both sets of lettering being harder to read. The raised relief is fairly generalized, too, and does not match well with the finely detailed USGS shaded relief on the base map.
But whatever its shortcomings, it is the only raised relief map available for the state of Missouri, and is a useful tool for studying its geography. (Other vendors sell exactly the same product, but without telling you its faults, and for much more money.) Unlike most state maps distributed by Hubbard Scientific, this map has a flat border, rather than the raised, frame-like edge of others in the series.
Scale, about 1:1,140,500 (1 inch = about 18 miles). Size: about 20 x 18½ inches.
