USGS 1:24,000-scale 7.5 Minute
Topographic Maps of the Theodore Roosevelt Lake - Mesa, Arizona region

The index map above shows the USGS 7.5-minute topographic quadrangle maps that we stock for this region.  The yellow lines represent the borders of the quadrangles, and the names of each map are in green.  No names are provided for those which we do not stock.  Scroll down the page for more details about each map and to order.

The brief descriptions for each map below mention land management agencies responsible for the lands in the quadrangle.  This is for reference only: the boundaries of each agency's jurisdiction is not necessarily shown on the map itself.  In particular, boundaries of Arizona state lands are never shown (except when designated a state park), and this is also true for Bureau of Land Management (BLM) properties.  Many federal wilderness areas within Arizona were so designated after most of the quadrangles were made, so they, too, are not marked as such on the maps.

The quads for Arizona measure about 22 inches wide by 27 inches high, and are printed on one side only.  They come flat (unfolded), and we will ship them rolled if you want to keep them unfolded.  We can also fold them for you, if you prefer.  Folded maps are cheaper to mail.

Shipping weight when rolled: 1.0 lb.  Shipping weight when folded: 0.4 lb.

Theodore Roosevelt Dam.  Published 2004.  Contour interval = 40 feet.  This map is dominated by the center of Theodore Roosevelt Lake.  Includes all or parts of Bumblebee Creek, Peters Mountain, Mills Canyon, Vineyard Canyon, Chuckwalla Canyon, Vineyard Mountain, Buckhorn Spring, Hackberry Spring, Chukar Wash, Bronco Creek, the upper reaches of Apache Lake, Two Bar Ridge, Alchesay Canyon, Cottonwood Creek, Goose Flats, Long Gulch, and Rock Island.  The entire area is part of Tonto National Forest (except for the westernmost edge of Tonto National Monument), and the map shows the Bermuda Flat, Cholla, Cholla Bay, Bachelor Cove, and Burnt Corral campgrounds, plus the Vineyard Canyon and Cottonwood Cove picnic areas.  The communities of Government Hill and Roosevelt are shown, as also state highways 188 and 88.  The map does not show lake depth contours or soundings, and even the shorelines shown are suspect, since they conflict with the elevation contours (the latter are shown dipping in and out of high water shorelines, physically impossible since a shoreline is also an elevation contour).
